Introduction

•         For making interrogative sentence first we put auxiliary verb like do/Can/have/may/to be/shall/will/and then put the subject and finally the main verb, But the word like what, when, which etc. then it is a word put after interrogative words. To select appropriate word. Study the sentence below for this :

1.    Do you play the game ?

2. Is the principal in the office ?

3. Did you not go to the station ?

3. Didn’t you go to the station ?

4. Do you havea new pen ?

1.Who

Who-subject
Example: Dinker met me.

Who met me ?
=>Dinker met me.

1.Who has a new car ?
=> They have a new car.

2.Who will go to school ?
=> The principal will go to school.

2. (A) What : Interrogative pronoun

1.What is Mr.Gohil ?
(Mr.Gohil is a professor.)
2.What is Bina doing?
(Bina is watching TV.)

(B) What :Interrogative Adjective

1.    What age is she ?
2. What colour is your shirt ?
3.What time is it ?

(C) What: Time, Day, Date information

Day

•         What day is today ?
Ans-Today is Monday.

Month

•         What month is this ?
Ans- this is December.

Time

Ans. It is seven o’clock

Direct & Indirect narration  with Interrogative sentence

•         Examples:

1.Is he your friend ? (Interrogative)
=> He is your friend. (Assertive)

2.Did you get your salary? (Interrogative)
=> You got your salary. (Assertive)

3.May I come in ? (Interrogative)
=> I may come in ? (Assertive)

4.How are you? (Interrogative)
=> How you are. (Assertive)
